One of the central exhibitions of this year’s edition is “Dear Marilyn,” created by American photographer Sam Shaw. Marking 100 years since the birth of Marilyn Monroe, TIFF.25 brings before the public previously unseen images of the iconic actress, captured by one of the most important visual chroniclers of 1950s Hollywood.
The exhibition is part of a series of international initiatives dedicated to the Marilyn Monroe centenary, alongside institutions such as the French Cinematheque, the British Film Institute, the National Portrait Gallery, MoMA, and the Turin Film Festival.
“Dear Marilyn” will be open to visitors from June 4 to June 21.
Another exhibition offers a journey through the festival’s recent history through the lens of photographer Șerban Mestecăneanu. “Continental 25” captures the atmosphere of TIFF over the past 15 years through portraits taken in the iconic setting of the Continental Hotel in Cluj-Napoca.
The exhibition brings together 380 actors, directors, cinematographers, and producers from around the world, creating a unique visual archive of the festival’s international community. The works are displayed both at the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum and along Eroilor Boulevard.
